Terri Patraw: UNR Grand Jury Investigation Update

On December 10, 2009, Judge Connie Steinheimer issued an order convening a criminal grand jury investigation of the University of Nevada, Reno.  The citizens who successfully petitioned the court for this investigation have appealed to the Nevada Supreme Court the parts of the order that were dismissed.

There was a lot of information presented to the court, including a 1700 page complaint and over 5000 supporting documents.  We are confident that the Judge legally erred when she dismissed some of the allegations due to statute of limitations or lack of evidence.  We believe these allegations will be reversed by the Supreme Court.

On behalf of the students, employees, and tax payers, who are all victims to this corruption, we want to make sure everything is presented to the grand jury.

Criminal indictments are being sought by the citizens against several UNR officials.  Evidence was brought forth against University
Police Chief Adam Garcia, General Counsel Mary Dugan, lawyer Kent Robison, President Milton Glick, and Athletic Director Cary Groth ... among others.

We anticipate a fairly quick ruling from the Supreme Court as they have been very efficient in anything we have filed there previously.  This is a short term hold up for long term gain.
